The "Vittorio Bachelet" Research Center on Public Administrations, established in 1992, aims to study and research Public Administrations and their transformations. The research, conducted with an interdisciplinary approach, is preferably focused on topics of interest to Public Administrations and in view of the definition or implementation of administrative reforms, also from a European perspective.
The Center also carries out surveys and scientific, theoretical, and applied consultancy, while simultaneously promoting the training of young researchers and experts in administration and public institutions through study meetings, seminars, and conferences, often of a comparative nature. It also organizes training activities for managers and public operators, especially in innovative or experimental sectors, with the aim of strengthening the link between administrative reforms and the training or updating of those responsible.
Since 2001, the Center has published the electronic journal "Amministrazione in Cammino" (ISSN 2038-3711), which includes reports, notes and comments, jurisprudence in the fields of public law, administrative law, economic law, and administrative science. It also oversees the "Public Administration Studies Series" published by Wolters Kluwer, which collects monographic studies on key topics concerning institutions and public administrations.
