After completing a LUISS master’s degree in Economics and Business Management in 2012, Luca Cesarini won the European Manufacturing Rising Star Award and today works for Maserati in Modena.

“I chose LUISS for its reputation and for the quality of its teaching staff as well as for the opportunity to build a network of contacts with different companies,” he explains. LUISS is like family for me: in a difficult moment, after taking advantage of the University’s counseling service, I had an amazing chance to work with the Evaluation Office for three years,” he adds.

LUISS Sport was another important space for Luca, especially the soccer team that he played with throughout his academic career. “Even now, years later, we all come back during the summer for the LUISS All-Star Game and it is always so exciting to see old friends.” His passion for soccer brought him around the world, playing in places like Jordan, the Maldives, Brazil, the Philippines and Thailand. His travels then inspired him to write his master’s thesis on the automobile market in South East Asia.

In 2017, Cesarini won the European Manufacturing Rising Star Award, winning the best under 35 in manufacturing, during the gala dinner of Annual European Manufacturing Strategies Summit: "It was an indescribable moment for both my friends and my team. Winning as a representative of Italy and a company like Maserati was deeply satisfying.”

With Maserati for six years thanks to help from the Career Services Office, Cesarini works in World Class Manufacturing and handles logistics engineering and material handling.

Thanks to the employers he has had over the years, his willingness to learn, his tenacity and the energy that he puts into every aspect of his life, the LUISS graduate was able to reach his current position and to become a face of the company, participating in the TV program Supercar on DMAX and the Discovery Channel. In the future, Luca would like “to work for an Italian electric super sports car and collaborate with the Formula 1 team.”
