LUISS graduates Federico Frisaldi and Lorenzo Cassia currently work as transfer pricing consultants for Ernst & Young in Luxembourg, after respectively graduating with honors in Economics and Finance and Corporate Finance.
Federico began his career with LUISS after completing his bachelor’s degree in Perugia and a short work experience in China. “I chose LUISS for its reputation and for its faculty that is renowned both academically and professionally. The program was in line with my interests, characterized by an international spirit and a practical approach.”
An experience in structured finance with BNP Paribas CIB inspired him to choose a master’s program in Economics and Finance to obtain soft skills that are “indispensable to emerge in a stimulating, international environment.”
Lorenzo came to LUISS for a master’s degree in Corporate Finance after completing his bachelor’s in business administration at the University of Pisa. One of his deciding factors in choosing LUISS was the use of English throughout the program. Thanks to the Career Services Office, Lorenzo discovered a job opportunity at EY Luxembourg as a transfer pricing consultant. “TPC is an area that I was not familiar with, but after some research, it became clear to me that it was a dynamic area and increasingly important area. After a series of interviews, I was made a good offer and decided to move to Luxembourg.”
Lorenzo finds his work environment to be stimulating and gratifying, made even better by a dynamic and international team. “Often we have to work late but I believe that a healthy dose of stress helps to grow both personally and professionally.” Among the biggest influences on his career, Lorenzo mentions Professors Cristiano Busco, Raffaele Oriani and Saverio Bozzolan as having contributed in his growth as a student and in his acquisition of the right technical skills.”
Lorenzo and Federico “perform tasks that vary according to the division of the team that needs their assistance, from banking, insurance and industrial area in which they work to the valuation team. We provide economic analysis of projects and run follow-up studies on company structures, benchmarks and financial modelling exercises.”
At the moment, both Lorenzo and Federico prefer to concentrate on the present and not make future plans. “I want to have as much experience as possible and I am certain that working for EY will be a decisive part of my education no matter what path I choose in the future,” says Lorenzo. Federico concludes remarking that he wants to “learn as much as possible from this opportunity without excluding the possibility of exploring new cities or jobs.”
