Born and raised in Paris, Joseph Franquesa moved to Rome to follow the LUISS master's degree program in Management two years ago.
“I had already studied in Italy at the University of Genoa thanks to an exchange program for undergraduates. I then graduated from the Université Denis Diderot in Paris, with a degree in Economic and Social Sciences and then Market Research and Surveying.”
While in Genoa, Joseph had the opportunity to take courses in English and Italian, motivating him to come back to Italy to improve his knowledge of both languages. “I choose LUISS for its Management program in English as it also offers a wide variety of courses to help me reach my future career goals.” I registered for the major in International Management because I wanted to immerse myself in an international context before entering the job market.”
In addition to general management lessons, Joseph followed elective courses such as Corporate Strategy and Real Estate Finance. “These courses gave me the chance to put my theoretic knowledge to use. Until that point, they were simply finance formulas. Furthermore, these courses provided precise insights on the sector, thanks to numerous testimonies from professionals and experts.”
Joseph also enjoyed his time outside of the classroom: “On campus there are so many activities, beyond academics, that it doesn’t make sense to go to lessons and then go home. There was always something interesting to do at the university. For those interested in studying here, be prepared for an engaging experience in a dynamic atmosphere where time flies. You will surely find a pleasant place with excellent structures.”
Joseph has dedicated his last six months at LUISS preparing his thesis and completing the AdLab program, thanks to which he was chosen to participate in a training and mentoring program with L’Oreal. “Taking so many oral exams in Italy helped me develop my communication skills, which will surely be useful in my career. After graduation, I will seize every work or training opportunity that comes my way, no matter what country it leads me to. I would like to work in a consulting firm or in marketing for a multinational company.”
