On February 14, Luiss announced the new Chair in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, thanks to the endowment by Vetrya as part of the Bachelor's Degree in Management & Computer Science.

Luiss University Dean, Andrea Prencipe, along with the Director of the Dept of Business and Management, Alessandro Zattoni, and Professor of Computer Science, Giuseppe Italiano were all present to announce the Chair, with guest of honor, President and Vetrya CEO, Luca Tomassini

"Digitalization and the development of Artificial Intelligence, from robotics and information technology infrastructures, represent an epic transformation. While we may not know what jobs will be on the horizon, we're called to plan the future for persons and companies through an amalgamation of knowledge – whereby social sciences and human skills are essential. Data without context in their application is completely senseless," remarked Rector, Andrea Prencipe.

Vetrya President and CEO, Luca Tomassini took advantage of the event to hold his first lesson: "Artificial Intelligence is destined to revolutionize almost across the board every single field of production known by humankind today. It's a new, significant challenge that will determine market valuations throughout the coming years. We're proud to contribute to the creation of this Chair for the education of our youth in this field, so they can usher in this huge digital revolution that's on its way. We're just at the beginning."

"In order to meet the evergrowing needs of employers, already over the last few years, the Dept of Business and Management has been recruiting Computer Science, Machine Learning and Data Science professors," affirmed Alessandro Zattoni, Dept Director. "This has allowed us not only to expand the core competencies of our student body amongst those pursuing studies in various management fields, but also to develop new educational programs centered around Management and Data Science."
