Luiss Post-Doctoral Fellow and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Political Science, Maria Giulia Amadio Vicerè, a Luiss Alumna, has been awarded the Marie Curie Fellowship, a European research grant to pursue her study on “EUDIC- EU Foreign Policy Differentiation and Integration: Informal Groups in EU Approach to Conflicts and Crises”.
Each year, the European Commission allocates resources for research grants for studies carried out by promising researchers working with EU member state institutions. Luiss researcher, Vicerè, was recognized for a Standard European Fellowship to be held at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute in Florence, a leading research university in the field of social sciences in Europe.
In 2019, there was a new record of proposals for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship. Of the 9,875 proposals, 7,706 were presented for the Standard European Fellowship. From those, only 1,740, or 13.16%, obtained the cut-off score of 93 to be considered for funding in the Social Sciences and Humanities category. Luiss researcher Amadio Vicerè has won a grant with a score of 94.2, in the top ten percent of candidates.
Throughout her PhD studies and post-doctoral fellowship at the Luiss Department of Political Science, Prof Vicerè has built an impressive research and teaching portfolio, including collaborations with esteemed schools abroad. She has held positions as an Assistant Professor at Leiden University and researcher at King’s College London, at Seattle's University of Washington and at Italy's own European University Institute, Florence.
