On May 3 and 4, Riva di Traiano hosted the first ever Match Race Luiss Cup, launching the University's sailing program with sailor Matteo Miceli.
The stars of the event were Luiss students interested in becoming part of the official University team, to participate in national and international regattas, as well as professors and alumni.
On Friday, May 3, participants attended a technical briefing and a training session. On May 4, the challenges on sea began, aboard ESTE24 sailboats.
During the technical briefing, participants reviewed important themes, from basic terms and equipment to roles and rules aboard.
The challenges began with three fleet races, where participants race aboard different sailboats starting from the same point. The final score was determined by the a series of match races: head-to-head competitions between two sailboats to win the first edition of the Luiss Cup.
