On Thursday, February 21 at 9:30 a.m., the Aula Magna Mario Arcelli on the Viale Pola campus hosts the inauguration ceremony for the 2018-2019 academic year to the President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella.
Opening the event is Luiss General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto, followed by Student Representative to the Board of Administration Riccardo Carnevale, the President of the Conference of Italian University Rectors Gaetano Manfredi and Luiss Rector Andrea Prencipe.
After the opening remarks, Professor of Computer Science Giuseppe Italiano will give a speech on artificial intelligence and new interdisciplinary challenges.
Princeton University Professor of Creative Writing Jhumpa Lahiri will then give her Lectio Magistralis: In praise of Eco: a reflection on the point of translation.
Concluding the event is Luiss President Emma Marcegaglia.
