LUISS has nominated its new Board of Directors, unanimously confirming Emma Marcegaglia as president and Luigi Serra as executive vice president.
Joining the board, presided over by Marcegaglia and including Serra, General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto and Rector Massimo Egidi, are secretary general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elisabetta Belloni; scientist and researcher Ilaria Capua; entrepreneur Giuseppe Cornetto Bourlot, president of Confindustria Young Entrepreneurs Marco Gay; manager Giovanni Gorno Tempini; President of Assolombarda, Humanitas and Techint Gianfelice Rocca; and President of Poste Italiane Luisa Todini.
“The new Board of Directors, a strong connection between academia and the job market, aims to lay out new coordinates for a strategic plan to strengthen the University and its young talents within Europe and Italy,” stated President Marcegaglia. “Diverse high-level profiles, each with strong managerial and entrepreneurial experience with international relevance in key development fields for Italy: economics, finance, law, biology, foreign affairs and communication.”
With long-term commitment to the relationship between education and work, Luigi Serra underlines: “The new members of the Board of Directors bring experience in scientific research and education, each with a different field of specialization and professional background.” “Our university,” continues the LUISS executive vice president and current president of Sistemi Formativi Confindustria, “wants to continue growing and developing an original, innovative, and decidedly international profile.”
Completing the Board of Directors working to develop this vision are president of BNL and the LUISS Business School, Luigi Abete; entrepreneur Francesco Gaetano Caltagirone; teaching staff representative, Professor Giuseppe Di Taranto, president of Intesa Sanpaolo Gian Maria Gros-Pietro, student representative Piervincenzo Lapenna, director of international and regulatory affairs Intesa Sanpaolo Stefano Lucchini, president of Associazione Laureati LUISS Daniele Pelli and entrepreneur Giuseppe Zigliotto.
