Dutch Italian Business Challenge 2016

On Wednesday 20 April the award ceremony for the fifth edition of the Dutch Italian Business Challenge took place at the Residence of the Dutch Ambassador, a competition involving LUISS students in Economics and Finance and in Business and Management, also including mobility and international students, with the aim of solving real-life business cases presented by Dutch companies operating in Italy and internationally.

The game started on March 8 during the kick off event held in LUISS, when each company (Unilever, Nexive, KLM and Randstad) introduced their own business case and begin to work with students as the groups were forming.

During the following weeks, students have had the opportunity to interact and discuss with partner companies to gradually shape the resolution of business cases, to be evaluated on the basis of their originality, creativity, sustainability and practicality.

After the presentation of each of the seven final business cases, the committee made up of representatives from LUISS University, the Dutch Embassy and members of the Dutch Business community has disclosed the three winners: starting from the first one, Nexive group 2, awarded with a ticket to Amsterdam and return provided by KLM, Unilever group 2, who has won a cruise on the clipper Stad Amsterdam and an internship opportunity at Unilever, and group Randstad 2, receiving high quality photobooks on Dutch Culture and on Italian culture.

Thanks to the Dutch Italian Business Challenge, both students and companies have benefited from this competition: students have gained concrete experience on problem solving and companies have received new and creative solutions to unresolved problems.
