The Master’s Degree in Economics and Finance offers a qualified and comprehensive education covering a wide range of key areas in finance and economics: the course is designed to provide a solid theoretical and analytical background to understand global markets and contemporary economies. The curriculum explores the major areas of finance, economic theory, macroeconomic and microeconomic policy and covers the study of quantitative methods. It also provides a critical and informed view of global economic dynamics, essential for navigating complex environments and formulating growth strategies.

Course programme and curriculum

The Master’s Degree in Economics and Finance is a highly structured two-year course designed to offer students a solid preparation in economic theory and financial analysis. In the second year, students can choose a specialisation in areas such as Finance, Applied Economics, Banking and Financial Intermediation, or join an exclusive path developed in collaboration with the Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance (EIEF), known as the RoME Masters in Economics.

Career Paths

Graduates in Economics and Finance will be able to perform highly responsible functions in the economic and financial system, in investment banks, asset management companies, banks and other financial institutions, international organisations and regulatory bodies, central banks, the financial sector and the management of multinational companies. 

Graduates in Economics and Finance are also able to work as freelancers in the economic-financial field at the highest level of competence. For the above purposes, the curricula of the specialised degree courses provide for internships in national and international financial institutions, consulting firms, public bodies and regulatory and supervisory authorities. Graduates will be able to carry out professional activities in economic-financial institutions and companies, where they will be mainly involved in economic analysis functions and regulatory aspects as economic systems specialists.

  • The average waiting time between graduation and first job is 1 month. 64% of employed graduates already have an offer before graduating.

Tuition fees, scholarships and benefits

The single annual fee envisaged for enrolment in the Master’s Degree is €13,600.00 (divided into 3 instalments*) and regional tax. 

Luiss offers scholarships and partial or total exemptions from university fees, also thanks to the support of public and private partners. Both male and female students have access to concrete support during their academic career. In addition, the University has entered into agreements with Italian banking institutions to offer flexible financing without collateral.
