Ambassador Elisabetta Belloni has been nominated general secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the Council of Ministers. After earning a degree in Political Science in 1982, Elisabetta Belloni began her diplomatic career at the Italian Embassy to Bratislava and the Italian delegation to international organizations in Vienna.
In November 2004, Belloni entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she has worked as the head of the crisis unit, general director of development cooperation, general director for resources and innovation, and chief of staff.
Promoted to ambassador in 2014, Belloni has also taught Development Cooperation: Politics and Institutions for the LUISS Department of Poltical Science.
