On Thursday, March 7, Luiss and Eni signed a three-year partnership agreement to offer joint educational, orientation and geopolitical analysis programs.
The agreement was signed by Luiss General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto and CEO of Eni Claudio Descalzi. Present were also Luiss President Emma Marcegaglia, Vice President Paola Severino and Rector Andrea Prencipe.
The first collaboration is the Sub-Saharan Africa Project, with Eni offering scholarships to talented young people in the region, allowing them to attend Luiss bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. Eni has long promoted education in African countries in which it is present, with the goal of promoting human capital and contributing to the continent’s growth.
Eni will also participate in the Festival dei Giovani, held every spring in Gaeta, and for the first time this year, also in Reggio Emilia. Eni will offer organizational support and workshops on the challenges and transformations in the energy world that will characterize our future: digitalization, decarbonization, the circular economy, sustainable development and protecting the environment.
Eni will also continue its collaboration with the Luiss Observatory on International Security on the Geopolitics of Energy project. The initiative focuses on the analysis of social, political and cultural phenomena that characterize the countries of the Mediterranean and Middle East and their impact on the energy sector. These are areas of strategic importance for Eni and for the development of the world’s energy industry, in which Eni plays a large role.
The new partnership between Eni and Luiss is exemplary of the University’s international development, with 40 visiting professors, over 1,000 students participating in exchange programs and 700 foreign students visiting Luiss each year. Luiss collaborates with over 270 universities in 55 countries and offers 40 Double Degrees and structured partnerships.
Eni, will also launch Eni Corporate University, an Eni center of excellence for education, as part of a wider plan to promote the skills and talent of young people in Italy and other countries in which Eni operates.
