Luiss is one of the promoters of Start Cup Lazio (SCL), the regional Business Plan Competition that awards prizes to the best innovative business projects born in Lazio's Universities and Research Institutions. SCL's objective is to promote academic and student entrepreneurship and the spread of business culture in the regional system of scientific research by providing support to teams of researchers and students in the creation and start-up/spin-off with high technological and knowledge content, to foster economic and social development in the region and in the country, through the economic enhancement of scientific research.
The competition is promoted by a collaborative network coordinated by the University of Rome “Tor Vergata” in which universities, research organizations, businesses and financial operators involved in supporting entrepreneurship and innovation participate. SCL is organized in partnership with the Regione Lazio through Lazio Innova SpA as part of the Premio Nazionale dell’Innovazione (PNI), the Business Plan Competition of Italy that represents the final stage of regional Business Plan Competitions, promoted by PNICube – Associazione Italiana delle Università e incubatori associati e delle Start Cup Regionali.
The best innovative business projects – in the sectors of Life Sciences-MED Tech, ICT, Cleantech & Energy, and Industrial – will have the opportunity to participate in the National Innovation Award (PNI). This year as well, cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams of students and researchers, along with additional special prizes.
