Luiss was awarded a new national grant in response to the “FISR 2020 COVID” call. The grant was issued by the MUR (Ministry of University and Research) in May 2020 - in the midst of the pandemic - to acquire research project proposals addressing the new social and economic challenges emerged during the SARS CoV 2 pandemic.
The ICPIHF - "Impact of Covid-19 and policy interventions on households and firms” - project was selected for the funding and will seek to investigate the impact of Covid-19 on households and firms as well as potential intervention policies. In addition, the project will focus on the economic and production crisis exacerbated by the pandemic, by analyzing the impact of government measures on containment and management of the virus imposed on businesses and households. Furthermore, the project will examine the health costs accrued by the “essential sectors” who experienced uninterrupted work throughout the pandemic. Otherwise, the analysis will endeavor to evaluate the extent to which the spread of COVID-19 infections can be attributed to the operational sectors during lockdown.
Prof. Fabiano Schivardi, the University Pro-Rector for Research is the Luiss’ scientific responsible for the project - coordinated by the University of Naples "Federico II".
