From November 2015 until Spring 2016, the LUISS Library will undergo radical and innovative renovations to both its interior and exterior spaces.
Over the past ten years, the Library has made constant quantitative and qualitative improvements in electronic resources and has gone from a traditional system to a more efficient service, adapting to new research methodologies and habits.
The Library has been redesigned as an open, multifunctional space, rendering it more than a network to develop teaching and research, but also a place to study, socialize and share.
The Library will expand its floor space by 350 m2, creating 4 new rooms for users, increasing reading stations from 82 to over 130 and computers from 18 to 60. Books available onsite will increase from 50,000 to 80,000 and those available on shelves from 100 to 15,000.
The goal of the project is to put the user at the center of the Library and to meet the needs of a variety of study and reading needs. The Library also seeks to create a large space for free time, with places to eat, green spaces and rooms dedicated to informal reading, where users can relax or participate in cultural events and gatherings.
Modifications to services offered by the Library will be communicated when construction begins.
