The LUISS Business School including the Department of Business and Management officially becomes member of the elite international management training world, receiving the prestigious EQUIS accreditation (European Quality Improvement System) currently awarded to only 150 institutions from the 15.000 surveyed globally.

"An extraordinary result, obtained by only 1% of the best schools for management training in the world, granted not only to the Business School but to the Department of Business and Management, demonstrating the value of the internationalization process that we have undertaken," comments LUISS President Emma Marcegaglia.

For the first time, this prestigious certification has been granted to more than just our specialization programs, or executive education, but to the University’s entire Department of Business and Management, including bachelor’s, master’s, doctorate, and professional programs.

"The EQUIS accreditation," declares Provost Massimo Egidi, "is recognition of a high level of research and interaction with the economic world, defining us as an important center in the European context. It marks a new point of departure for us that will favor agreements with the best universities from around the globe. This result was possible thanks to authentic team work, visible in everyone’s eyes upon hearing news of the accreditation."

The EQUIS accreditation highlights three aspects of the educational model offered by the LUISS Business School and the Department of Business and Management:

  • the strong relationship between businesses that, thanks to synergies and collaborations in project work and seminars, favors efficient placement in the labor market and enriches educational content with up-to-date content from the global scene
  • attention to life skills through training workshops that allow students to develop more than just technical abilities but digital, creative and analytic skills as well
  • the ERS (Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability) dimension in the new educational model currently growing within LUISS, thanks to partnerships with social enterprises, increased extracurricular activities with practical and ethical content such as volunteer projects or collaboration with the LUISS community garden

"This recognition," concludes LUISS General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto, "is proof that the course we have started on to offer a complete, versatile education in line with the needs of businesses, is the right path to make our students’ university experience more useful, intense and rich with opportunities. The EQUIS certification gives more weight to our commitment."

After a visit from the Peer Review Team, the EQUIS Awarding Body officially accredited the LUISS Business School, including the University’s Department of Business and Management until 2018.
