Saturday, May 6, 2017, LUISS participated in Open House Roma, offering tours of the Viale Pola and Via Parenzo campuses to the public.
The annual weekend event (May 6 and 7) that opens the doors of hundreds of the capital's notable sites to the public saw the participation of a group of LUISS students trained by Open House staff to guide visitors and offer explanations of the historic and architectural relevance of both sites.
"Our participation in Open House Roma 2017 is part of a long-term project to valorize our campuses in collaboration with the Cultural Activities Office. In the future, not only Pola and Parenzo will be open, but also Viale Romania and Villa Blanc," explains Fosco Riani, a master's student in International Relations student involved in the project. "Students who participate in the training become keepers and ambassadors of the university's history and its spaces, with the goal of sharing them with anyone who wants to get to know Rome better through its architecture and urban development."
"It is a project that allows us to learn about and appreciate our buildings as more than just educational centers, but also for their historic and cultural relevance," adds Chiara Fratalia, a first-year master's degree student in Government and Policies. According to Bernadette Amante, first-year Law student: "Participating in this project allows us to learn about the history of the places that we see every day. I gained a new perspective and a new world of people, symbols and mysteries. Walking through the halls now, nothing seems by chance, everything has a meaning and tells a story!"
