LUISS and the University of Petra are collaborating on Progetto Mediterraneo: an advanced course for talented students from disadvantaged conditions and refugees. Participating in the presentation in Jordan on Monday, July 9 and Tuesday, July 10 are Executive Vice President Luigi Serra, General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto, and Professor of Arab Studies Francesca Corrao. During the two days, the LUISS delegation will also meet Jordanian students and refugees as well as visit two refugee camps.
Currently, there are 17 students involved in the project at the University of Petra, following bachelor's degree programs to obtain LUISS Double Degrees. The students were selected based on need and on merit. Seven of the students are refugees currently residing in Jordan, ten are Jordanian students who will spend the first and third years at the University of Petra and the second at LUISS.
"Normality, sharing and hope." These are the key words behind the project according to LUISS General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto. "In 10 years we will see these students with an additional opportunity to develop both personally and professionally."
