On October 29, LUISS signed an agreement for educational and research programs with the European Investment Bank.
LUISS General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto, Director of the LUISS School of European Political Economy Marcello Messori and the Vice President of the EIB Dario Scannapieco – who gave a lesson on the European investment plan – signed the new agreement to create internships, research projects and practical seminars.
This is the basis of the memorandum of understanding between the banking institute and the University’s school of European political economy, LUISS SEP, to offer educational opportunities and a research plan on the development of European financial markets and supporting business.
Students of the LUISS School of European Political Economy will not only be able to participate in internships with the institution but also work with EIB staff on research projects, with the change of presenting their work to the European Bank in Luxembourg.
"To broaden educational and professional horizons on the European panorama while learning to examine the role of Italy in EU institutions with a wider perspective is one of the objectives of this important protocol between LUISS and the EIB, of which we are very proud,” declared General Manager Giovanni Lo Storto.
The collaboration, in addition to educational programs, includes teaching exchanges with seminars held by EIB employees at LUISS and corses at the EIB taught by LUISS professors and researchers.
"For the LUISS School of European Political Economy this is a great opportunity to develop increasingly necessary relationships to consolidate Italy’s position in Europe,” added Director of LUISS SEP Marcello Messori.
“Investing in education is essential to be competitive, especially in the increasingly complex society we live in. Young people who study at LUISS have the chance to challenge themselves in a dynamic environment without geographic limits. This is precisely the spirit of the agreement that we are signing today, which, I am particularly proud of as a former student because it contributes to LUISS University’s international dynamism,” concluded EIB Vice President Dario Scannapieco.
