Luiss is Host Institution of two new ERC Grants, projects of excellence in scientific research of international relevance.

Prof. Emilio Calvano has been awarded the ERC Advanced Grant with a research project entitled "AI-COMP" on the application of Artificial Intelligence to market environments and their impact on competition. Prof. Luigi Pascali has been awarded the ERC Consolidator Grant for the project "ROOTS - Unearthing the roots of global inequality" which, in collaboration with Universidad Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona), aims to offer a new perspective on the origins of social inequality, starting with an investigation of the factors that have influenced the development of human society.

The European Research Council (ERC) is the European Union organization that funds excellent researchers in Europe of any ages and nationalities, through competitive funding and by enabling them to conduct frontier research in EU Member States or Associated Countries.

The award of these projects - lasting five years - is an important milestone for our University as the Grants' Host Institution.
