2023 for Luiss represents the year of research projects of relevant national interest (PRIN edition 2022), with a record 33 projects awarded (including 6 PRIN PNRR) for a total funding of more than 2.5 million euros.
The PRIN program encourages projects that, due to their complexity and nature, require the collaboration of research units belonging to universities and research institutions, dividing funding by disciplinary macro fields determined by the ERC: Life Sciences (LS), Physical Sciences and Engineering (PE), and Social Sciences and Humanities (SH).
The MUR aim for PRIN Grant is to promote the national research system, strengthen interactions between Universities and Research Institutions, and encourage Italian participation in initiatives under the European Union’s Framework Program for Research and Innovation.
In synergy with MUR aims, the 33% of Luiss Faculty have submitted a PRIN 2022 and PRIN PNRR application for a total of 47 applications. With the support of the Research and Third Mission Office, the overall project award rate is 72%. The total number of awarded projects is: 12 for the Department of Business and Management, 7 for the Department of Political Science, 4 for the Department of Law, 10 for the Department of Economics and Finance, with an adjudication rate of 100%.
