Secured new funding from Luiss for a five-year research project to advance scientific knowledge in information transmission in dynamic markets. The ambitious project, DynamicInfoAsym, falls under the new programming of the European Research Council (ERC), part of the European Union’s research and innovation framework programme Horizon Europe. The initiative responds to the growing attention around the challenges posed by the digital economy and the regulation of technology-intensive markets.

DynamicInfoAsym, “Dynamic Markets with Information Asymmetries: Strategic and Non-Strategic Information Transmission”, focuses on analysing competition in dynamic markets characterised by asymmetric information, where one or more economic actors possess an informational advantage over others. The project examines two distinct yet interconnected scenarios: information transmission by strategic agents, who deliberately act to influence others' decisions, and information transmission by algorithms, which have become central to market processes.

The goal of the project is to develop theoretical models and analytical tools to better understand the impact of these mechanisms on market efficiency and fairness, while also contributing to current debates on predatory pricingalgorithmic competition, and the regulation of artificial intelligence, particularly in the context of the EU AI Act

The project is led by Doruk Cetemen, Associate Professor of Economics at Luiss, with previous academic experience at Royal Holloway, University of London.
