On Thursday, May 28 Luiss held its 13th discussion on the pandemic and its repercussions. Expert insight was given by Paola Mattei, Luiss Professor of Health Care Policy and Political Science at Università degli Studi di Milano along with Pierluigi Antonelli, CEO of Angelini Pharma. Luiss Vice President Paola Severino introduced the speakers and Luiss Rector, Andrea Prencipe moderated the talk.
"The capacity for governments to stage a quick response is fundamental, just as important as development of a rapid system for determining pandemic risks. We must analyze all that has occurred so we can be better prepared and improve for the next time," stated Paola Mattei.
"Healthcare is not a cost – It is an investment. One of the many challenges we face is certainly to raise awareness of the immense value a public healthcare system brings. From there, we need to implement better policies for prevention and work toward specific and concrete actions we can make for the good of all," concluded Pierluigi Antonelli.
