Monday, October 26 at 3:00 pm Luiss presents a webinar on American politics in film, revealing the ways the movie industry depicts the country's politics – just one week before the U.S. presidential elections.

The webinar offers an unbiased analysis and reflection on the juxtaposition between the darker portrayals in movies of American politics as something sinister, corrupt and cynical vis-a-vis those films such as Mr Smith Goes to Washington or Thirteen Days, which show it in a much more positive light.

The webinar is hosted by Luiss Vice President, Paola Severino, Luiss Director of the Department of Political Science Sergio Fabbrini and alongside the artistic director for the Festa del Cinema di Roma, Rome Film FestivalAntonio Monda. The event will be moderated by the Director of La RepubblicMaurizio Molinari. A Q&A session will be held at the end.

Participants must register for the event

The webinar will be streamed on the Repubblica.it website
