Luiss graduate, Giorgio Ciron was shortlisted by Forbes as one of the top 100 young entrepreneurs. Giorgio shared his university experience and his career pathway that led him to achieve this important recognition.

Giorgio reported his experience at Luiss was a fundamental part of his academic development: “I completed the Master’s in Political Management, led by the School of Government, which allowed me to explore topics which I pursued in my daily work. Luiss was the right choice for me and I will shortly commence another Master’s Course at the University”.

Giorgio’s choice to return to Luiss are the same reasons that brought him there to begin with. “Luiss is an excellency at national and international level regarding interest representation, lobbying, and establishing a solid relationship between the public and private sector”.

Giorgio strives to grow professionally and to help others. This approach led him to be shortlisted by Forbes in the “Social Impact” category. He stated: “I have always sought to make an impact through the representation of interests, because if done ethically, it can improve the lives of many people, companies, workers and entrepreneurs”.

Giorgio developed this opinion through his years of professional experience. “In 2014, I interned at Assolombarda, I was the youngest and the only one yet to graduate. After various positions and intermediary stages, in 2016, I was hired and engaged in work with Startup Town, a project linking 420 start-ups with small and medium-sized enterprises. I then began to follow Gruppo Sanità and became its referrer. In 2018, I launched a project on the platform economy and in 2019, I also became the referrer of Gruppo Trasporti. Since 2020, I am Director at InnovUp, the main association of the Italian start-up ecosystem”.

Giorgio’s future goals revolve around InnovUp. “I want to develop InnovUp because I saw in it great potential. The innovation ecosystem in Italy is still underrated, however it is fundamental for international competition”. His dream job is “to have a managerial position in the Ministry or within a large public institution, in order to make a profound impact”.

Giorgio shares three points of advice to those who wish to approach a similar career path. Firstly, “to continue to study and develop professional skills, keeping up to current standards”. Secondly, “to shadow tutors and people that can be a source of learning both within and out with one’s work environment”. Thirdly, “to actively engage in networking activities, to connect with the right people who can provide the correct answers to your inquiries”
