IDMO (Italian Digital Media Observatory), coordinated by the Director Gianni Riotta and Prof. Livia de Giovanni, represents one of the 8 selected hubs (representing 14 EU and EEA countries) that will help implement the activities promoted by the European Digital Media Observatory (EDMO) in the fight against disinformation and fake news at European level.
The initiative aims to tackle the fake news phenomenon by adopting a strategy based on monitoring the flow of information and on the use of AI-based tools. This will allow not only to identify the most vulnerable target audiences to such disinformation, but also to detect mechanisms that lead to sharing as well as those more functional in preventing and countering the potential impact.
