Società Italiana di Intelligence has established the “Carlo Mosca” Thesis Award for postgraduate study programs.
The prefect, Carlo Mosca, who passed away in March 2021, was one of the most renowned intelligence scholars in our country, also inspiring the foundation of Società Italiana di Intelligence (translated as Italian Intelligence Society).
The award includes:
1st place
Financial recognition: € 1,000.00
Hardcopy publication of the thesis with the publisher Rubbettino
2nd place
Financial recognition: € 700.00
Digital publication of the thesis on Società Italiana di Intelligence’s portal
3rd place
Financial recognition: € 500.00
Digital publication of the thesis on the Società Italiana di Intelligence’s portal.
The award is reserved for theses of the following study courses:
- Doctorate or equivalent title (PhD, DPhil)
- Second-Level Master’s Degree
- Postgraduate specialization course
- Other postgraduate qualification (e.g. MBA, LLM, Master's, etc.) issued by an Italian or foreign university institution, or by a study center recognized by Italian or international law.
The 2021 edition of the award will be granted to theses of programs completed in 2020, which have been finalized and presented no later than 31/12/2020. In any case, research must not be older than 4 years. Therefore, only theses presented after 2017 will be considered valid.
In order to compete for the award, applications must be sent no later than 10/30/2021 via email at thesis@socint.org
The thesis must be accompanied by a presentation letter from the supervisor, who must be copied in the email sent to SOCINT.
The Award Commission is formed by Mario Caligiuri (University of Calabria), Alberto Ventura (University of Calabria), Domenico Talia (University of Calabria), Marco Valentini (Ministry of the Interior), Maria Gabriella Pasqualini (Historian of Intelligence), Antonio Felice Uricchio (ANVUR President), Francesco Sidoti (Full professor of the University of L'Aquila).
