Luiss has been awarded a new research project named LATIF (“Leveraging Argument Technology for Impartial Fact-Checking”) funded by the European Media & Information Fund (EMIF).
The project will develop a new generation of digital tools based on the Analysis of Competing Hypotheses (ACH) to empower and improve fact-checking organisations’ decision-making processes.
The University, through the Luiss Data Lab, research center specialized in data analysis and countering disinformation, will coordinate a high-profile international team composed by experts in digital fiction and disinformation in collaboration with the University of Dundee, University of Liverpool and T6 Ecosystems S.r.l.
The EMIF supports collaborative efforts to debunk disinformation, amplify independent fact-checking and enable targeted research and innovation tools designed to strengthen resilience, and the ecosystems response to disinformation.
