With the aim of continuously fostering its Internationalization process, Luiss University is pleased to invite outstanding Scholars from around the world to apply for the position of Visiting Professor for the Academic Year 2023/2024.

The deadline for applications is October 31, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. (CET)

General Rules

Visiting professors at Luiss are required to spend a minimum of 4 consecutive weeks at our University. Given the desire to establish a more fruitful and lasting cooperation, longer visiting periods of up to 1 semester are encouraged. Visiting Professors are invited to conduct research with the Luiss faculty and are also strongly encouraged to be available provide some teaching and to give seminars (up to a maximum of 20 teaching hours – see below).

Candidates may apply for one of the following Departments:

  • Business and Management
  • Economics and Finance 
  • Law
  • Political Science

In addition to general information, applicants are kindly requested to upload their CV, provide a short description of the proposed Research activity to be carried out during the visiting period, and indicate a Host Faculty Member at Luiss University. It will also be possible to select the Academic Area for the Intended Teaching Activity on the Application Form.

Luiss University will provide a lump sum compensation to cover travel and living expenses for the duration of the Visiting period. This payment will also remunerate a moderate teaching involvement (if any) in Luiss classes (up to a maximum of 20 teaching hours). The proposed gross compensation normally ranges from a minimum of €3,000 to a maximum of €6,000 per month. 

Visiting Periods

  • Fall Term: September 1, 2023 – December 15, 2023
  • Spring Term: January 15, 2024 – May 15, 2024
  • Summer Term: May 15, 2024 – July 15, 2024



Please note that visiting periods are preferably organized for our Fall and Spring Terms. Nevertheless, a limited number of positions might be available during the Summer Term, which will be primarily dedicated to research activity and possibly some teaching at either the Doctorate level or in a post- graduate program.

Important Deadlines

Protection of Personal Data

Luiss University, as Controller, collects and processes the information data of subjects in full compliance with the general principles and rules laid down by the law governing the protection of personal data (Legislative Decree No. 196/03 and Regulation (EU) No. 2016/679).

The processing is required to correctly manage the procedures inherent in the call for applications in relation to Visiting Professorships for a.y. 2023-24, as well as associated and ensuing obligations: the characteristics of the processing are communicated through a privacy notice given to the data subjects, who are also requested to consent to the processing of their data should it prove necessary in relation to the aims pursued by the Controller.
